Planet Healthcare is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for
a travel job in Wichita, Kansas.

TRAVEL - Cath Lab Tech (744) - Wesley MC - 6:30A - 5P - EXT On-call
requirements consist of 1night/week and 1 weekend/month I. SCOPE
AND COMPLEXITY OF PATIENT CARE NEEDS Cardiovascular Services of
Wesley Medical Center provides services for invasive and
non-invasive procedure care. The Cardiac Cath department is staffed
to operate four (4) procedure rooms Monday through Friday 0700 to
1900. An "on-call" staff is available 24/7 for emergency
procedures. The EP department is staffed to operate one (1)
procedure rooms Monday through Friday 0700 to 1600. The ECG
Laboratory provides services for non-invasive procedure care
including, 12-Lead ECG, Stress testing and Holter Monitor. The ECG
department is staffed to operate Monday through Sunday 0000 to
2359. The Echo department is staffed to operate Monday through
Friday 0630 to 1900. An "on-call" staff is available 24/7 for
emergency procedures. The patient population served by the
Cardiovascular Services consists of the newborn, pediatric,
adolescent, adult and geriatric patients requiring or seeking
procedural/surgical intervention to maintain or restore an optimum
level of wellness. Cardiovascular Services provides a safe and
comfortable environment for both patients and personnel in order to
provide optimum assistance to the physicians in meeting the
emergency, preventive and restorative health needs of the patients.
The Cardiovascular Services staff provides quality-conscious,
competent and cost-effective care with respect for life and
dignity. The patient's physical, psychological and social needs are
assessed initially on the Nursing Units and are reassessed once
they arrive within the appropriate cardiovascular procedure area,
with a plan of care developed and revised as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS OF STAFF VI. In the immediate post-procedure phase,
the patient is under the direct supervision of the performing
physician who maintains responsibility for the needs of the patient
until the patient has been appropriately discharged from
Cardiovascular Services. In cases where conscious sedation is
administered, the policy, procedure and standards related to
conscious sedation are followed. Cardiovascular Services staff
consist of RN's, RT's, and RCIS's. Cardiac Cath/EP Laboratory staff
members maintain current BCLS certification, and ACLS
certification. Organizational memberships to the Association of
Operating Room Nurses (AORN), American Society of Post Anesthesia
Nurses (ASPAN), Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) and the
Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals (SICP) is
encouraged. An ongoing program of inservice education and periodic
clinical skills evaluation for all staff members is maintained to
ensure that the quality of care provided is kept current with the
developments in the medical, nursing, anesthesia and infection
control fields. The AORN, ASPAN, Association for the Advancement of
Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), the Center for Disease Control
(CDC) and Public Health Department standards are references used in
the formulation and review of policies, procedures and standards of
practice in the Cardiac Cath/EP Laboratory, as well as
collaborative input from the knowledge and expertise of the Cardiac
Cath/EP Laboratory staff. To assist in meeting patient care needs,
support is readily available from all equipment and instrument
manufacturers. Staff assistance to physicians while performing
specialized testing specific to this division. and overhead
services to other departments in the medical center. Diagnostic EKG
services to physicians, hospitals, and clinics in rural areas of
Kansas. Echocardiography: Diagnostic testing to aid in the
diagnosis of heart and vascular diseases, as well as provide
additional data of significance, at the order of a physician.
Provide assistance to physicians in the performance of specialized
testing specific to this division. Clerical: Scope of Services.
Copy and distribute records of cardiovascular procedures to
physicians and their office staff. Provide and perform
receptionist, secretarial, timekeeping, film librarian duties, as
well as various ancillary support duties. provide quality care for
patients undergoing these procedures. Interface and assure the
equipment, supplies, technical, and educational expertise necessary
to deliver a quality diagnostic or therapeutic examination. Check
post-procedural data to assure accurate information was derived
from human-equipment interface. Electrophysiology: Provide
age-specific diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in conjunction
with physicians and provide quality care for patients undergoing
these procedures. Provide professional nursing care. Assist the
electrophysiologist before, during, and after an electrophysiology
study, ablations, 3D Mapping and device implants. Conduct autonomic
tilt table testing and signal averaged EKG data. Patients and
family members Medical Staff Physicians Hospitals Clinics in rural
areas of Kansas Intradepartmental Team Members Interdepartmental
Team Members Electrocardiography: Provide quality diagnostic
testing to aid the health care team in the diagnosis and treatment
of cardiovascular diseases. Echocardiography: Provide quality
diagnostic testing to aid the health care team in the diagnosis and
treatment of cardiac and vascular diseases. Clerical: Scope of
Services. OUR TEAM COMPLIMENTS THE FOLLOWING SYSTEMS IN OUR
FACILITY: XI. Provide accurate and timely processing and
dissemination of information and data in an approved and acceptable
format. Invasive Catheterization Laboratory: Provide quality
diagnostic and therapeutic interventions with a highly trained
staff in association with the invasive Cardiologist. Also, to
preserve and achieve, with the assistance of the total health care
team, the highest level of well being possible for our patients.
Maintain the highest level of quality and state-of-the-art service

package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject
to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
