Seat King LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working directly with clients to design and develop new products, as well as making visits to client sites to gather requirements and provide technical support. The ideal candidate should be passionate about design, have exceptional communication skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of new products, from initial concept through production. - - - -
  • Utilize CAD software to generate innovative design solutions that enhance product performance, comfort, and style while considering cost, materials, and manufacturing feasibility. - - - -
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure product designs meet customer needs and align with business goals. - - - -
  • Ensure designs adhere to Seat King's standards of quality and performance, with a focus on continuous improvement. - - - -
  • Oversee prototyping and testing of projects, including coordinating with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components. - - - -
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies to inspire new product ideas and keep Seat King at the forefront of innovation. - - - -
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure the design meets required specifications and standards. - - - -
  • Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. - - - -
  • Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. - - - -
  • Perform design reviews and provide feedback to ensure that designs meet quality and performance standards. - - - -
  • Continuously improve the design process by identifying and implementing best practices.
    
    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. - - - -
    • 5+ years of experience in product design engineering, preferably in the lawn and turf care, agriculture, or construction industries. - - - -
    • Experience working directly with clients and managing client relationships. - - - -
    • Work experience utilizing and interpreting finite element analysis (FEA) results on new product designs. - - - -
    • Experience with CAD software and engineering analysis tools. - - - -
    • Experience with manufacturing processes and materials preferred. - - - -
    • Proven success designing cost-efficient products without compromising quality or performance, including working closely with suppliers for material sourcing. - - - -
    • Hands-on experience with 3D printing and other rapid prototyping technologies to quickly develop and test design concepts.
