TITLE: Education Intern (UNPAID)
LOCATION: Wichita, KS

DURATION: 2 Semesters (Fall 2024-Spring 2025)
HOURS: 12-15 hours/week

MANAGERBACKGROUND:
Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a
leading nonsectarian, voluntary organization providing relief,
protection and resettlement services for refugees and victims of
oppression or violent conflict. In addition, the IRC in Kansas
provides community outreach, education and training, and case
management services to victims of human trafficking and other
at-risk individuals and families are served through employment
services, job readiness training, adult education and immigration
services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intern will learn about the IRC locally and globally, the available
services to refugees and ORR-eligible clients in Wichita,
Kansas.
Intern will develop critical thinking skills, client services
skills, and intercultural social work skills.
Intern will learn how to manage classes and supporting services
within the established requirements, to provide the best service
possible to vulnerable populations.
In-depth training will be provided for interns regarding
programming and the various needs of clients accessing
services.
TIME COMMITMENT:For the sake of stability and continuity, the IRC
asks for a minimum commitment of 6 months, with at least 12 hours
per week. Monday-Thursday 9:30am-12:30pm, Fridays (hours based on
intern availability)IRC leading the way from harm to home.
